Teachers' Rights under Act 10

Act 10 became the law in Wisconsin on June 29, 2011. Starting on that date, all teachers have the right to:

  2. Stop paying union dues. § 111.70(2).
  3. Not have their employer automatically deduct labor union dues from their earnings. § 111.70(3g).
  4. Not be forced to contribute to a so-called "fair share" agreement or otherwise be compelled to pay or contribute any money to a union that acts as a collective bargaining unit on behalf of the teacher. § 111.70(2).
